Start date: May 2027
PYMEX Program
Real companies. Real problems. Real decisions. The Case Method, practical work on your own company, and a classroom shared with business owners facing the same challenges you do every day.
Is PYMEX right for me?
A program created by and for business owners
SMEs are the main source of employment in the Spanish economy and also among the most vulnerable to change. In the classroom, you will meet business owners asking the same question you are: how do I move from producing and selling to leading an organization? If your company is growing, control is becoming a concern and you need to delegate, this is your program. It is designed for professionals with more than five years of experience, with no university degree required.
The founding owner who can no longer do everything
You built the company with your own hands; today, you may be the main constraint on its growth.
→ Ownership and management concentrated in the same person
→ An informal structure that no longer supports growth
→ A need to focus on people, responsibilities and control
A family business in transition
The company is working, and now the responsibility of legacy comes into play: ensuring its continuity.
→ Second or third generation with a planned succession
→ The role of the next generation: ownership, governance and management
→ Adapting the structure for future generations
A trusted executive of the owners
A key role in the SME for executing and structuring growth:
→ Professionalizing management
→ Executing the SME strategic plan
→ Aligning ownership and management
What will I achieve?
360-degree perspective: thinking in terms of the whole company
Analyse business problems, challenges and opportunities more objectively in order to make better decisions.
Business relationships that last
At San Telmo, beyond your fellow participants, you will meet business owners, executives and professionals with whom you can build trusted relationships, exchange knowledge and experience, identify opportunities for collaboration and continue developing professionally and as a business leader.
SMEs built to last
Knowledge, skills and attitudes that will help you establish sound decision criteria, assess alternatives and make better decisions.
Methodology
The Case Method.
You learn by doing.
Analyse, debate, decide.
The Case Method places you in real business situations where you must analyse information, identify problems, assess alternatives and make decisions.
The objective is not to learn what decision a company made, but to develop and debate in the classroom your ability to make better decisions.
Through this process, you strengthen your analytical skills, learn to listen and test different viewpoints, develop a global view of the company and acquire criteria you can apply from day one.
Because leadership is not about having all the answers; it is about learning to ask the right questions and decide with sound judgment.
Individual study
Before each session, you study the case and form your own judgment. Your preparation is complete when you have made a decision and can defend it.
Teamwork
Before the faculty-led session, you test and discuss your analysis with other business owners and executives in your assigned team of five or six people. Sometimes you will reinforce your initial decision; other times, your peers will help you see new criteria and change your mind.
General session: classroom debate
The professor moderates and guides the session towards its learning objectives. Classroom contributions are expected to be precise and rigorous, with participants challenging one another’s positions. You will be pushed to explain the reasoning and purpose behind every decision you make.
Application in your company
Many of the cases could have your own name on them: they are all real business situations. You will expand your management toolkit, improve your diagnoses and make better decisions. When the learning from a session connects with a situation in your company, you can apply it the very next day.
Curriculum
A 360-degree view of the company
Running an SME requires seeing the whole picture. PYMEX helps you raise your perspective: understand your company as a whole, develop your management capabilities and make better decisions to strengthen its professionalization, competitiveness and growth. Three stages cover these areas:
Define where the company is heading.
- Strategy and General Management: priorities, alternatives and a vision for the future
- Marketing and Sales: market, pricing, channels, sales force and commercial plan
- Business Environment, Taxation and Governance: a broad view of the environment, legal issues and corporate governance
Assignments applied to your own company
Six progressive assignments: company diagnosis, financial and economic analysis, commercial and marketing strategy, organization and people, operations and processes, and strategy and future. Each is submitted and reviewed individually by faculty.
Measure, control and improve what you manage.
- Finance and Control: financial statements, costs and economic information for better decision-making
- Operations: processes, projects and services to improve competitiveness and profitability
Much more than an academic assignment
You receive an external, qualified view of your business, similar to a diagnostic consulting engagement. The assignments are individual and have generous deadlines, so they do not require regular time beyond the program days.
Lead people and lead yourself.
- People and Leadership: leadership, communication and talent management
- Negotiation: preparation, style and boundaries to achieve the best outcome
- Communication: informative and persuasive workshops to improve public speaking

Frequently Asked Questions

I run my company: can I combine the program with my work?
Yes. PYMEX is designed precisely for business owners and executives who run a company and need to keep managing it while they study. The program lasts 11 months and combines learning with practical assignments applied directly to your own company, always with the support of professors and tutors.
The idea is not to take you away from your company to study, but to learn while you lead: you will analyse real situations, test your decisions against those of other business owners and work on concrete issues in your business, such as financial statements, costs, marketing, the commercial plan or strategy.
Do I need a university degree?
No. PYMEX is designed for business owners and executives of small and medium-sized enterprises and does not require a university degree.
What matters is your experience and responsibility within the company, together with your desire to improve your management skills and make better decisions. It is also aimed at business owners, second- and third-generation successors, trusted executives of the owners, and sons, daughters or heirs who are taking over the management of the business.
How much does it cost and what financing options are available?
The investment in the PYMEX Program and the available financing options are explained individually during the admissions process. If you are interested in the program, our team can tell you about the financial conditions and the options available to help you join.
Where is the program delivered?
PYMEX is delivered in Seville and Malaga, in a blended on-campus/remote format over 11 months.
The format combines the flexibility a working business owner needs with the richness of shared learning. The Case Method is one of the pillars of the program: it lets you face concrete business situations, analyse problems, test different criteria and develop a more global view of the business.
In addition, a particularly distinctive part of PYMEX is that you will work on your own company. The practical assignments are supervised by faculty and aim to turn what you learn into concrete improvements for your business.
In short: this is not a program for learning to manage a company in the abstract, but for improving the company you already lead.
