Seidor Chair of Digital Agenda for Senior Management
San Telmo Business School
Purpose
Technology transforms markets; senior management decides whether that transformation becomes a competitive advantage.
San Telmo Business School has spent years driving initiatives to help business owners and executives face digital transformation. In 2018 it launched the Digital Agenda for Senior Management and, in 2022, the current SEIDOR Chair was created, continuing that work through research, education and dialogue with companies experiencing technological change first-hand.
The Chair seeks to foster a better understanding of digital transformation so that it can be integrated into organizations’ competitive strategy. Through case writing, applied research and teaching activities, it helps senior management understand the impact of technology, anticipate its implications and lead change with sound judgment.
Program associated with the specialization: ideAD
ideAD is the development program linked to this specialization, aimed at those who must lead transformation from the top of the organization. Its approach helps participants understand the strategic impact of digitalization, set priorities and make decisions with an integrated view of business and technology.
The program offers senior management guidelines and criteria to lead digital change decisively and move towards greater competitive excellence. See the ideAD dossier for full details of its content, methodology and upcoming editions.
The Chair approaches digital transformation as a senior management issue. Its research is structured around four perspectives that help move from isolated technology to a true strategic agenda.
Transformation begins before a technology becomes widespread. Researching trends, changes in customers and new models makes it possible to build medium- and long-term scenarios and prepare the organization before change becomes inevitable.
Strategy
Digital transformation is not a side project, nor the sole responsibility of the technology department. It must be part of the core of strategy and of senior management’s decisions in order to generate sustainable competitive advantage.
Growth
Digitalization can become a lever for growth by opening up new business models, improving processes and making the company more agile, versatile and flexible in the face of market change.
Adaptation
There is no one-size-fits-all digital transformation. Each organization must start from its own objectives, customers, capabilities and business model to select and adapt the technologies that truly add value.
Advisory Board
The Advisory Board is the collegiate body that connects research with companies’ real challenges.
Together with the executive and academic management, it recommends lines of research, identifies issues of interest to senior management and helps define the Chair’s activities and development.
Sponsors and partner companies
SEIDOR drives the Chair as its main sponsor, together with an ecosystem of partner companies that contribute experience, knowledge and real cases to enrich research and training.
